History
NESA is proud of its long, successful track record of providing cost containment and management services to agencies, intended parents, medical practices, individuals, and insurers.
2007
Dr. Tina Trudel and Jim Samson’s Northeast Evaluation Specialists (NES) is approached by an equity team to create a consortium for a third-party liability insurance portfolio targeting the surrogacy and assisted reproduction community. It results in the formation of three primary entities: an underwriting agency, a claims management firm, and a national brokerage organization.
2011
NES Assurance (NESA) is established to create a comprehensive financial case management model.
A primary brokerage agency is engaged, leading to the creation of the first surrogate maternity complications insurance policy, with NESA as the lead loss control agency.
2013-2018
Collaborative focus on growing the insurance portfolio occurs, noting consistent growth amid a favorable market.
Health insurance exchanges start writing policies for the Affordable Care Act, effective January 2014, prompting NES Assurance and partners to expand and diversify their product lines, including local monitoring and bill processing services.
2020
COVID-19 pandemic leads NESA to diversify into a licensed pharmacy benefit manager, addressing the increased need for discounted pharmacy options and guidance amidst the pandemic’s challenges. In addition NESA develops ancillary services to support IVF Providers and Family Law Firms to include medical record retrieval services, criminal background checks, and nurse review services.
NESA expands its provider coverage into Canada and Mexico enlisting physicians in the United States to provide oversite on an expanding medical tourism market for IVF services.
Today
NES Assurance continues to expand its operations and services, establishing a national payor ID, and partnering with a clearinghouse.
NESA maintains position as a leading loss control specialist in the assisted reproduction industry, partnering with two major insurers and servicing over 60% of surrogacy agencies in the U.S.
